The InviScreen® Toxoplasma Gondii Detection Kit provides a real-time qPCR method for the qualitative detection of T. gondii DNA in food samples. The assay uses real-time PCR chemistry with primers and probe targeting two different highly conserved genomic regions to ensure sensitive and broad inclusivity across strains. The method is applicable to test all kind of food matrices, particularly ready-to-eat (RTE) products and fresh produce. The kit allows simultaneous amplification of T. gondii DNA and an internal amplification control (IAC) to exclude false negative results due to PCR inhibition. Amplified products are detected in separate fluorescence channels (FAM, HEX/VIC and Cy5) on common open-platform qPCR thermocyclers. Under optimal conditions, the kit enables highly sensitive detection down to approximately 1 genome copy/µL.
