Product Details
The PSP® Spin Stool DNA Basic Kit is perfect for gut microbiome analysis or the extraction of host DNA. The kit can be used for the extraction of stabilized samples or fresh/frozen stool samples. For comprehensive sample management – sampling, stabilization, transport, and storage – the extraction kit can be combined with the Stool Collection Tubes with DNA Stabilizer. For direct lysis and extraction from fresh or frozen stool samples the PSP® Spin Stool DNA Basic Kit needs to be combined with the DNA Stabilizer available in bottle format (Catalogue No. 1038111100).

The PSP® Spin Stool DNA Basic kit does not contain a buffer for sample lysis, which options do I have?
For comprehensive sample management (sample collection, transport and storage at room temperature) we recommend combining the extraction kit with our Stool Collection Tubes with DNA Stabilizer (Cat.No 1038111300). If fresh or frozen pure sample is extracted combine the kit with the DNA Stabilizer (180 ml bottle, Cat. No. 1038111100). The DNA Stabilizer works as the lysis buffer for sample purification.

What is the composition of the Elution Buffer?
Elution Buffer: 10 mM Tris pH 8.5 – 9

How does DNA need to be stored after extraction?
For 2-6 months genomic DNA can be stored at +2 to +8°C. For long term storage keep genomic DNA at -15 to - 25°C or -70°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles as this may cause shearing of the DNA.
